Mũi Né_part 4_Dalat or "OMG I probably will never sit on a bike again" (9)

Hello there!

Several random people advised us to visit Dalat, or "Vietnamese Paris" as someone calls it so we devoted our last day in Mũi Né to visit this town.
We grabbed our bike and started our trip:

The road itself was magnificent - I was turning my head right and left so often, my neck hurt, the views of the hills, lakes, forests, green valleys - everything was so beautiful!!! Well, see for yourself:

The only slightly uncomfortable thing was that Dalat is situated 170 km from Mũi Né so, on a bike it took us more than 5 hours to get there... And it would be ok if not for the fact that it can get extremely hard sitting on a motorbike for so long - let me just say that your behind won't be glad...

All complaining aside, we had a nice trip, though short, to this charming city.

As I said - the road itself is mind-bogglingly pretty but when you get close to the city - it takes your breath away. Just imagine a huge valley between forest-covered mountains filled with little bright houses. You have to see it for yourself just to realise the expanse:

I guess I like high places and cable cars because you can see so much from them. So, we found one in Dalat:

Info about Dalat - it was  founded by the French in 1912. Due to its location, the climate there is quite mild - it is mostly never more than +26 °C (+79 °F). It is popular among tourists because of its unique mix of European and Asian in architecture, infrastructure and overall utter beauty.
Quite close to the cable car you can find an amazing pagoda complex. It is wonderful - pagodas are lovely and everything is so clean. Don't get me wrong - I love Viet Nam and all, but the grimness is getting to me sometimes. Being in this pagoda complex was like to breathe a lungful of pure air. Well, see for yourself:

Xuan Huong Lake (the city center).

They even have their own Eiffel Tower:

We didn't have much time before going back (it is getting dark here at 5 pm.) so we decided to visit one more place and take off.
We chose Crazy House, it was created by a Vietnamese architect Đặng Việt Nga. She graduated from the University of Architecture in Moscow (!) (1959-1965). She has stated that her design was inspired by the natural environment surrounding the city of Da Lat, along with the work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. It is open to tourists for 40 000 per person and also you can stay there as a visitor! Is this house really crazy? Decide for yourself:

Check out also their official site to see more pics and book a Kangaroo room, for example: http://www.crazyhouse.vn/index.php

It took us sllightly more than 4 hours to get back, but it was all was worth it!

Stay tuned to be the first to know about Batmen invasion, hot New Year and other adventures in Nha Trang !
